Why counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore anything that may be troubling, challenging, or confusing for you.

It is having a conversation with someone who deeply listens and supports you in finding the answers for yourself.

It can help with a range of issues such as:

  • finding meaning

  • feeling stuck

  • low self esteem

  • anxiety and depression

  • panic attacks

  • relationship issues

  • facing a diagnosis or health issue

  • anxiety around death, dying and loss

  • bereavement

  • grief

  • eating disorders

  • addictions

  • suicidal thoughts and feelings

How counselling can help

‘It isn’t about getting rid of your emotions, it’s about getting to know them well. That is where transformation happens.’ Pema Chodron

The counselling process can help you build greater self-awareness of the situation you are in. It can help you see any unhelpful patterns you may have developed and how they came about.

It can lead to greater self-acceptance by providing a place where you process your experiences and develop a different relationship with your history and experience. It will help you access your inner resources and develop greater resilience.

Sometimes people can experience a profound change and other times it may be a small shift, insight or change that makes the difference.
